Meditation for Peak Performance and Enduring Happiness:
For Mental Health, Medical, and Surgical Practitioners

This evidence-based course integrates the latest and best Western scientific research on peak performance and positive psychology with ancient insights and practices from the great contemplative traditions of the East. While Western psychotherapeutic traditions have traditionally emphasized alleviating painful emotional states, the participant will focus instead on practical tools to cultivate positive emotional states and psychological resources to support mental and physical health.

Through lecture, demonstration, Q&A and experiential exercises, the participant will explore the psychology and neurobiology of peak performance, focused attention, countering the negativity bias, cultivating compassion, finding freedom from self-esteem concerns, and deepening interpersonal relationships. The participant will receive an up-to-date review of easy-to-learn contemplative practices from their ancient origins to modern brain science, learning how they work to alleviate psychological and physical distress. The participant will see how these transformative meditation practices hold great promise not only for your own personal development but also as remarkably powerful tools to augment virtually every form of psychotherapeutic and medical treatment. Participants with little meditation experience and seasoned practitioners alike will find this course beneficial both personally and clinically.
